2025 Award Recipients

Brooklyn Anthony

Brooklyn Anthony will be attending Florida State University to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering.  She was member of National Honor Society, academic letter recipient, SAHS softball team, Spanish Club, Interact Club, St. Johns County 4H Club president, and received AICE Diploma.

Annie Mae Davis & Sons Scholarship fund was established by Brad & Dawn Davis (both SAHS c/o 1972) in order to honor the legacy of the various Davis Family members who have graduated Ketterlinus High School (KHS) and St. Augustine High School (SAHS) and went on during their post high school career to contribute to the St. Augustine community. Annie Mae Davis (decd.) graduated Ketterlinus High School in 1940 and her sons Wayne Davis (decd.) graduated KHS in 1959, Vernon Davis (decd.) graduated SAHS in 1960, Terry Davis (decd.) graduated SAHS in 1963, and Brad Davis graduated SAHS in 1972. This scholarship is awarded to the SAHS senior who best represents the Davis Family’s academic standards, involvement with SAHS school activities and service to the community.

Sean Griswold

Sean Griswold will be attending Jacksonville University to pursue a degree in aviation business/air traffic control training in order to achieve career goals becoming a pilot.  He was woodwind captain Ancient City Regiment, academic letter recipient, president of Aerospace Club, and AICE Diploma with Merit.

Shelley Desvousges Scholarship fund was endowed in 2023 by Ms. Desvousges in order to help a SAHS Senior in financial need in attending college. Shelley was elected into the SA/KHS Hall of Fame in 2019. A 1969 graduate of St. Augustine High School (SAHS), Shelley Hartley Desvousges is a retired assistant district attorney and district court judge for North Carolina 10th Judicial District for Raleigh, North Carolina. Shelley attended Fullerwood Elementary School and Ketterlinus Junior High. Shelley enjoyed going to summer camp and swimming for the Y swim team during the summers. At SAHS, Shelley was involved in Pep Club, Sub-Jr Service League, Inter-Club Council, and Student Council. She was selected to attend Girls’ State. Shelley was voted Most School Spirited during her senior year by her classmates. Shelley attended Florida State University, graduating in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology. Shelley became Assistant District Attorney, 10th Judicial District in Raleigh, North Carolina in 1991. She prosecuted all felonies, including white collar crimes, capital murders, and felony assaults. In 2003, Shelley was appointed by Governor Mike Easley to serve as a District Court Judge in the 10th Judicial District in North Carolina. Shelley retired in 2009 but continues to serve as an Emergency District Judge in North Carolina and received a lifetime commission from the governor to serve as a District Court Judge in North Carolina on an as-needed basis.

Anna Keen

Anna Keen will be attending the University of Florida to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering.  She was member of National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, SAHS soccer team, SAHS volleyball team, academic letter recipient, St. Johns County Character Award, and received AICE Diploma with Merit.

Carol A. Melton Scholarship fund was endowed in 2012 by Carol Melton. A 1972 co-valedictorian graduate of SAHS, Ms. Melton was inducted into the 2011 Hall of Fame. She earned her bachelors from Wake Forest University, masters from the University of Florida and Juris Doctor from the Washington College of Law. Currently, Ms. Melton served in senior management at Time Warner Inc., overseeing Time Warner’s public policy offices in Washington, D.C., London, Brussels and Hong Kong before leaving from Time Warner in Summer 2018 when Time Warner merged with AT&T. Carol is currently involved with angel investing into early stage companies as CEO of an LLC named Adeft Capital, and serving on several boards. ​The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage leadership and achievement through educational opportunities.

Avery Driggers

Avery Driggers will be attending the University of Florida to pursue a degree in biochemistry and plans to pursue a career as Pediatric Intensive Care Pharmacist.  She is a member of the National Honor Society, academic letter recipient, SAHS Jacket POM, FCA Leadership Team, Interact Club, and AICE Diploma.

Braeden Mikle

Braeden Mikle will be attending the University of Florida to pursue a degree in biochemistry with a minor in Spanish in the hopes of becoming a plastic surgeon.  He is member of the National Honor Society, on track to earn the Florida Seal of Biliteracy, president of Interact Club and AICE Diploma with Merit.

Grant Wilkerson

Grant Wilkerson will be attending the University of Central Florida to pursue a degree in finance/accounting.  He was captain of SAHS cross country team, SAHS track & field, academic letter recipient, 4 year honor roll, student volunteer of year at Ketterlinus Elementary, and 2024 recipient of Victory with Honor Award.

L. Curtis Westbrook, Jr. Scholarship – The SA/KHS Alumni Board would like to thank Mrs. Cynthia Bird for endowing this scholarship starting in the Spring of 2018 and into near future in order to honor her late husband’s name. L. Curtis Westbrook, Jr. was born in St. Augustine in 1939. He attended Orange Street School and graduated from Ketterlinus with the Class of 1956. Curt completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Finance at Florida State, and earned his C. P. A. certificate. He joined Price Waterhouse in the Miami office for several years, then established his practice in St. Augustine. He earned his Ph. D. at the University of Georgia, and continued his career in university teaching. Curt retired from California State University as Professor Emeritus. His brother Jim Westbrook graduated St. Augustine High School in 1964. This scholarship is awarded to a student with the determination and desire to continue their educational future with the goal of making a difference in the community.

Hanna Murphy

Hanna Murphy will be attending the University of Florida to pursue a degree in business communications/marketing.  She was a member of the SAHS volleyball team, academic letter recipient, honor roll, Rotary Youth Leadership Award, Cambridge Scholar Award with Merit, and AICE Diploma with Merit.   

L. Curtis Westbrook, Jr. Scholarship – The SA/KHS Alumni Board would like to thank Mrs. Cynthia Bird for endowing this scholarship starting in the Spring of 2018 and into near future in order to honor her late husband’s name. Gabriella McCaw

Gabriella McCaw will be attending the University of Florida to pursue a degree in health science in the hopes to work as a dermatology physician assistant.  She was member of National Honor Society, academic letter recipient,  Jacket POM Captain, SJCCA Dance program, and received AICE Diploma with Merit.

Susan Ponder-Stansel Scholarship – Susan is a proud Class of 1975 graduate who received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from FSU. Her post-graduate training included becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and working in healthcare and care for the elderly. Since 1985 she has led one of the nation’s largest and most respected hospice and home care programs, headquartered in Jacksonville and serving North Florida and Southeast Georgia. She is committed to supporting those who want to pursue education in any of the helping professions.

Kaitlyn (Rowan) Pan

Kaitlyn (Rowan) Pan is currently undecided in her college choice.  She wants to attend one of the top art college to pursue a degree in art.  She was secretary for National Art Honor Society, winter guard team member, academic letter recipient, 2025 Young Arts Winner, and received AICE Diploma with Merit.

David Stansel to support a student in the Arts Scholarship – David Stansel graduated in 1975 and attending Flagler College, studying art. In high school he was President of the Art Club and was known as a talented artist with a specialty in pottery. His only child Sarah was also gifted with artist talent and pursued a career in both visual and vocal arts. David remains passionate about supporting those who pursue education in all forms of art including visual and performing.

Jade Walker

Jade Walker will initially be attending Tallahassee State College before transferring to Florida State University to pursue a degree business/real estate development.  She was member of National Honor Society, vice president creative writing club, cadet command sergeant major in JRTOC program and received American Legion Military Excellence Medal for leadership. 
William “Bill” Mignon JROTC Scholarship – A graduate of Ketterlinus High School in 1955, Bill Mignon earned his B.S. from the University of Florida in education and was commissioned as a 2nd lieutenant through the university’s Army ROTC program. Bill served as principal of Adult Education, Evening Division, at St. Augustine Technical Center. He further served as principal of R.B. Hunt Elementary School for 14 years, Allen D. Nease High School for 13 years and Pedro Menendez High School for 5 years.​ In 2002, he was awarded the St. Johns County School District Lifetime Achievement Award and served as a School Board Member, District 3, for St. Johns County Schools (chairman). He was also a member of the Association of the U.S. Army, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #2391, National Guard Officers Association and the St. Augustine Officers Club.​ The scholarship is dedicated to SAHS JROTC graduate who is continuing their education in college and pursing their goals in serving their community.

Logan Eakin

Logan Eakin will be attending the University of Florida to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering.  He was member of National Honors Society, academic letter recipient, American Youth Character Award, Interact Club, Math Club, Spanish Club, and received AICE Diploma Award with Merit.
SAHS Academy Scholarship – SAHS Academy Scholarship was endowed by the SA/KHS Alumni Association for an SAHS senior who was involved in one of the career academies (Aerospace Academy, St. Johns County Academy of Future Teachers, The Academy of Law and Homeland Security, ROTC, or Center of the Arts for 3 or more years.

Sabrina Jacobson

Sabrina Jacobson will be attending the University of Florida to pursue a degree in either electrical engineering or mathematics while minoring in music.  She was Ancient City Regiment Band Captain, first chair clarinet, math tutor, honor roll student, and received AICE Diploma Award with Merit.

Jonah Ash Scholarship at Flagler College was established in by the board of directors and the Ash family. Mr. Ash was a 1992 graduate of SAHS and earned a degree in business administration from Flagler College. He was a founding board member of the Alumni Association and also served as the organization’s treasurer. This scholarship is awarded to SAHS graduates attending Flagler College who most represent Mr. Ash’s determination and courage.

Jonathan Knoblauch

Jonathan Knoblauch will be attending the University of Central Florida to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering.  He was vice president of the math club, vice president of student government association, member National Technical Honor Society, and received AICE Diploma Award with Merit.

Benjamin Brown

Benjamin Brown will be attending the University of Florida to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering and minoring in music.  He was member National Honor Society, Interact Club, SAHS boys soccer team, All State Guitar Ensemble, and received AICE Diploma with Distinction/Merit.

Olivia Burns

Olivia Burns will be attending Lipscomb University to pursue a degree in musical education so she can become a chorus teacher at the elementary/middle school level. She was a honor roll student, academic letter recipient, event planner/organizer at her local church, and member of SJCCA Chorus.

Jacob Harris

Jacob Harris will be attending the University of Central Florida to pursue a degree in communications.  He was member of the SJCCA drama program performing in 14 productions, reporter/editor of school news program Yellow Jacket News, honor roll student, and recipient of Character Counts Award for Respect.

Anna Brown is a 2022 graduate of St. Augustine High School that has received the Jonah Ash Scholarship. She is currently attending Flagler College.
